The Black Faculty & Staff Association will host the First Black History Knowledge Bowl 

 

WHEN: Tuesday, February 24, 2009

WHERE: University Center-Denman Room UC 2.01.28

TIME: 6:30PM - 9:30PM

ADMISSION: FREE

DOOR PRIZES: GIFT CERTIFICATES TO LOCAL RESTAURANTS, MOVIE TICKETS, CANON POWERSHOT A470 7.1MP DIGITAL CAMERA WITH 3.4X OPTICAL ZOOM & FACE DETECTION AND MORE...

 

In celebration of Black History Month test your knowledge in Black History. Teams will compete in timed rounds to win cash prizes.

Come support your UTSA classmates and enter for a chance to win such door prizes as gift certificates to local restaurants or a Canon Powershot 7.1MP Digital Camera!

This Event is open to the public and free refreshments will be served.

This event is intended to foster UTSA's core values of inclusiveness, collaboration, respect, innovation, and excellence and is gratefully sponsored by the Provost's UTSA Core Values Initiative.

 

Subjects being covered include: Culture, Education, Politics & Political Leaders, Medicine & Health, Sports, General Knowledge, Military, Music, Movies & Television, STEM, Invetors & Inventions, Literature, Arts & Theater etc. Teams will be e-mailed a study booklet as they register and are approved to narrow the scope of the topics being covered.

Award Amounts are as follows:

1st Place: $900.00/Team

2nd Place: $600.00/Team

3rd Place: $300.00/Team

All participants will receive consolation prizes for their participation. 

 

 

Refreshments will be served at the event and there will be door prizes given out through out the night! ADMISSION IS FREE TO ALL!!!

The mission of the Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA) is to increase the participation of Black professionals and students at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). The organization will accomplish this mission by serving as an advocate and support group for Black concerns and issues at local, state, national, and University levels. BFSA further believes in the advancement of Black faculty, staff, and students, and our full participation of the pursuit of the vision and mission of UTSA.
